Who says LA is not a sports town? With two team in baseball, basketball, and hockey Tinseltown is much of a sports town as any other city in the country.
In baseball, the Dodgers and Angels have been at the top of their respective divisions. Both teams are playing solid baseball and look to secure playoff spots.
The Dodgers have enjoyed a revival after former Yankee manager Joe Torre took over last season. With Manny Ramirez in the lineup – despite a 50 game suspension – the team stayed at the top of the western division and looks for a possible World Series berth.
The Angels on the other hand have been a perennial post season player and look to continue this season. Manager Mike Scioscia has led the Angels with solid pitching and a lineup centered around Torii Hunter.
In the NBA, the Lakers have continued their solid run with Kobe Bryant leading the way for the blue chip franchise. While the Clippers have been trying to get back into the mix after years of mediocrity.
In the NHL, the Kings continue to flounder, while the Ducks have continued their fine play, almost besting the Red Wings in the playoffs this season.
As for the NFL, who cares? Los Angeles has some of the best college football teams in the country, so fans will get their pigskin fix the day before.
All of this makes LA a solid sports town with no signs of letting up.
